Determining seismic hazard in slowly deforming region: Can we gather enough information from karst caves?
Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić (2021)Methods to determine seismic hazard in any region vary depending on the regional seismicity, but can be roughly grouped into two main groups: one based on probabilistic methods that use data about known seismicity in the region, and another, which is based on data related to the faulting processes and determination of seismically active faults. Both groups of methods are relatively good for seismically active regions. However, in regions of low seismic activity and slow deformations, there is neither ...Ana Mladenović, Jelena Ćalić. Stratigraphic implications of the Mio-Pliocene geodynamics in the area of Mt. Avala: new evidence from Torlak Hill and Beli Potok (Belgrade, Serbia)
Mt. Avala is located on the southern margin of the Pannonian basin (SPB), a border zone between the uplifted morphostructures of the Dinarides and Carpathian-Balkanides. Similar to the Pannonian basin, tectonostratigraphic evolution of the Mt. Avala area during the last 23 Ma has is characterized by syn- and post-rifting processes as well as tectonic inversion. Here, we present the results of field investigations of the Miocene‒Pliocene dynamics that led to different spatial positions of the same stratigraphic units (e.g. ...... in the field, their exposure in the relief and an interesting relationship between the geological units (normal or tectonic boundaries, ero- sional contact, unconformity, spatial position of same units, etc.) we collected principal biostratigraphic, structural and geomor- phologic evidence to show the ...

Upper Miocene depositional environments of the Kikinda-Mokrin High (Serbia)
Saša Ivanišević, Dejan Radivojević (2018)Exploration for oil and gas in mature areas, such as the Pannonian Basin, can benefit from reexamination of old data using more advanced modern workflows that focus on the temporal and spatial aspects of sediment deposition. Specifically, we apply a new environment of deposition model that interprets the Upper Miocene- Pliocene sediments as being deposited in a rapidly filling basin characterized by quick shelf edge progradation from the northwest toward the southeast. The influence of alkyl polyglucosides (and highly ethoxylated alcohol boosters) on the phase behavior of a water/toluene/technical alkyl polyethoxylate microemulsion system

Clockwise vertical-axis rotation in the West Vardar zone of Serbia: Tectonic implications
The Vardar-Tethyan mega-suture between the Eurasian and Adria (Gondwana) margins comprises remnants of oceanic lithosphere of Neotethys and distal parts of the adjacent continental margins including unconformable Late Cretaceous sedimentary cover and Cenozoic igneous rocks of post-obduction age. Simple 2D gravity–density inversion for the modeling of the basin basement: example from the Banat area, Serbia
We have developed a technique to calculate lateral density distribution of the sedimentary basin basement by combining linear gravity–density inversion and 2D forward modeling. The procedure requires gravity anomaly data, depth-to-basement data and density data for the sediments (density–depth distribution). Gravity efect of density variations in the basement was extracted from the total gravity anomaly by removing the joint efect of the sediments with vertical density variations and homogeneous basement of average density contrast (calculated by 2D modeling). Gravity ...Ivana Vasiljević, Snežana Ignjatović, Dragana Đurić. Frequency and Length of Syllables in Serbian
Marija Radojičić, Biljana Lazić, Sebastijan Kaplar, Ranka Stanković, Ivan Obradović, Ján Mačutek, Lívia Leššová (2019)Basic analyses of several properties of syllables (the rank-frequency distribution, the distribution of length, and the relation between length and frequency) in Serbian is presented. The syllabification algorithm used combines the maximum onset principle and the sonority hierarchy. Results indicate that syllables behave similarly to words as far as mathematical models are concerned, but values of parameters in models for syllables are quite different from those for words.... there are several definitions of a linguistic unit (cf. e.g. Crystal, 2008, pp. 521-523 for word, p. 367 for phrase, and pp. 432-433 for sentence). Процјена хазарда и ризика од клизишта за различите нивое просторног планирања у Републици Српској, БиХ

Pokazatelji recentne tektonske aktivnosti u speleološkim objektima Dževrinske grede (istočna Srbija)

Aktivnost ovih transkurentnih raseda je akomodirala ovu rotaciju, pa se smatra da je kumulativno kretanje duž Timočkog raseda tokom perioda njegove aktivnosti bilo do 100 km.
