Design of the Opencast Coal Mine Drmno Dewatering System
Development of mining in the opencast mine Drmno from Kostolac basin in Serbia is carried out in the increasingly complex geological and hydro geological conditions with the decline of the coal seams to the alluvial part of Europe's largest river Danube. Greater depth and inflow of groundwater significantly increase costs for dewatering facilities construction with the requirement for optimizing of this more and more important surface mining process. Making decision on screen construction in the opencast mine with redesign ...dewatering system, groundwater, hydrodynamic model, dewatering wells, screen, reliability, environmental effects.Vladimir Pavlović, Dušan Polomčić, Tomislav Šubaranović. Convective heat transfer in centrifugal pumps lifted wells: the case of South-Eastern Europe waxy wells
Electric submersible pumps (ESP) are applied in wells where additional energy is needed to ensure discharge of the fluid to the surface through the tubing. At the discharge side of the pump the fluid has bigger velocity, thus the pump induces a forced convection between the fluid and the tubing inner surface. Understanding of convective heat transfer in wellbores and analyses of influential parameters provides a possibility to optimise value of convective heat transfer coefficient in order to avoid ...Bojan Martinovic, Marija Živković, Branko Grubač. Mitigating hydrate formation in onshore gas wells: A case study on optimization techniques and prevention
Gas wells, particularly those situated onshore, play a vital role in the global energy sector by supplying a significant portion of natural gas. However, operational challenges, notably gas hydrate formation, pose substantial issues, leading to complications such as flowline blockages and unexpected well shutdowns. Gas hydrates, crystalline structures resembling ice, ...Gas Well, Gas Hydrate Formation, Well Modeling, Well Performance Optimization, Choke Position Adjustments, Methanol InjectionMilica Ješić, Bojan Martinović, Stefan Stančić, Miroslav Crnogorac, Dušan Danilović. Wells calculation for the protection of opencast mine Radljevo North from groundwater
Effect of Properties of Working Fluids on the Efficiency of a Low-Temperature Organic Rankine Cycle
Decarbonization of all segments of energy systems, both on the supply and demand side, is one of the main goals of the energy transition. Electricity supply in the future will largely rely on generation from intermittent energy sources: wind and solar. Locally available, non-utilized alternative low-temperature energy sources as hydro-geothermal wells, and abounded oil and gas wells, have the potential to provide continual energy production over the year. Electricity generation from these energy sources is carried out with working ...Marija Živković, Aleksandar Mijatović, Dejan Ivezić, Boban Pavlović. Determining the Groundwater Balance and Radius of Influence Using Hydrodynamic Modeling: the Case Study of the Groundwater Source “Šumice” (Kikinda, Serbia)
A groundwater flow model was developed to simulate groundwater extraction from the public water supply source of the City of Kikinda. The hydrodynamic model includes the municipal groundwater source of Kikinda (Šumice and the Jezero Well), but also an extended area where there are groundwater sources that provide water supply to three factories: (MSK, TM and LŽT - Kikinda). Hydrodynamic modeling, based on the numerical method of finite differences will show the groundwater balance of the sources in the ...... the Modpath code was used to assess the radius of influence of the Šumice wells. The distance from which groundwater reached the wells in 200 days was determined. The streamline arrows pointing to the production wells denote the 20-day travel time of a conservative particle. Figure 12 shows that ...
