Natural two-dimensional pyrophyllite: Nanoscale lubricant, electrical insulator and easily-machinable material
Borislav Vasić, Radoš Gajić, Ivana Milošević, Žarko Medić, Marina Blagojev, Marko Opačić, Aleksandar Kremenović, Dejan Lazić (2022)Pyrophyllite, with the chemical formula Al2Si4O10(OH)2, is a naturally occurring and abundant van der Waals mineral belonging to the group of phyllosilicates. It is very soft, layered crystal used for sculpting and an excellent electrical and thermal insulator aimed for the operation at high pressure and temperature. Here, for the first time, two-dimensional (2D) pyrophyllite obtained by both mechanical and liquid phase exfoliation is presented and investigated at the nanoscale. The layered structure provides low friction coefficient of around ...Atomic force microscopy, Insulating properties, Nanofriction and wear, Natural two dimensional materials, Phyllosilicates, PyrophylliteBorislav Vasić, Radoš Gajić, Ivana Milošević, Žarko Medić, Marina Blagojev, Marko Opačić, Aleksandar Kremenović, Dejan Lazić. Interaction of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) with homoionic montmorillonites: adsorption isotherms and metal-ion release
The interaction of dodecylsulfate anions (DS−) with homoionic Ca-, Mg-, Ni-, Cu-, Cd-, Pb- and Fe-montmorillonites were investigated. Mg- and Cd-montmorillonite do not adsorb DS−, and an anion exchange at the edges of the clay mineral does not take place. Three different adsorption processes are identified on the other montmorillonites: i) Fe-montmorillonite is covered with amorphous iron hydroxide, and DS−-anions are bound at positively charged sites. ii) On Ca- and Pb-montmorillonite DS− is precipitated as Me(DS)2. iii) On Ni- ...M. Defining location and dip of magnetic anomaly sources applying mathematical transformation
It is significant to define the location and dip of anomaly sources during the geophysical exploration (magnetic, gravity, electric, seismic, etc.). In this paper we presented results obtained during magnetic survey. Applying different method of mathematical transformations on magnetic data we can find the position (edge) and dip of magnetic anomaly sources. For successful solution of this problem, we used combination two method tilt derivative and upward continuation. The study area located in the eastern Serbia, north part of ...Snežana Ignjatović, Milanka Negovanović. Punctuated, episodic magmatism and mineralization of the Rogozna skarn-hosted Au-Zn-Pb-Cu deposits revealed through high-precision U-Pb zircon geochronology
The subvolcanic regions of magmatic centers are commonly associated with alteration, mineralization, and economic ore deposits, however the duration and frequency of mineralizing pulses within the overall lifespan of these centers can be poorly defined. Therefore, models for the formation of mineral systems require more highprecision geochronology data to refine their evolutionary models. Rogozna Mountain and its eponymous magmatic complex, located in SW Serbia, hosts multiple base metal deposits associated with variable rock types and structural expressions and serves as a natural laboratory to ...Skarnovska mineralizacija, Magmatsko-hidrothermalni sistemi, Subvulcanske intruzije, geohronologija na cirkonima, CA-ID-TIMSSean P. Stability analysis on slope PK dacite Ceramide
Safe surface mining exploitation of minerals is possibile only if stable bench and overall slopes in the open pit are construct. In order to to construct stable open pit slopes, it is necessary to carry out certain physical and mechanical laboratry testing of mineral raw materials in order to determine the geomechnical calculating parameters. These calculating parameters represent the base ground for performing slopes analyses and the open pit design. In this paper, an stability analysis of benches and ...Vladimir Čebašek, Veljko Rupar, Vladimir Ivoš, Vladimir Petković. Overview of the hydrogeological investigations of recently discovered world class deposits in Serbia
Europe industry has growing concerns on availability of the raw materials. To address this challenge, the European Commission has created a list of critical raw materials for the EU, launched EIT Raw Materials initiative, and continuously support research projects (like INTRAW, UNEXMIN etc.) with the aim of reducing the dependency and meeting growing demands. In the last 15 years Serbia is experiencing new bust in geological exploration of mineral deposits. Currently 167 exploration licenses are active, covering approximately 6000 ...Nebojša Atanacković, Vladimir Živanović, Veselin Dragišić, Sava Magazinović. Characterization of bituminite in Kimmeridge Clay by confocal laser scanning and atomic force microscopy
Paul C. Hackley, Jolanta Kus, João Graciano Mendonça Filho, Andrew D. Czaja, Angeles G. Borrego, Dragana Životić, Brett J. Valentine, Javin J. Hatcheries (2022)This work investigates bituminite (amorphous sedimentary organic matter) in Upper Jurassic Kimmeridge Clay source rock via confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). These petrographic tools were used to provide better understanding of the nature of bituminite, which has been historically difficult to identify and differentiate from similar organic matter types in source rocks. As part of an International Committee for Coal and Organic Petrology (ICCP) working group, an immature (0.42% vitrinite reflectance), organic-rich (44.1 wt% ...Битуминит, Kонфокална ласерска скенирајућа микроскопија, Mикроскопија атомских сила, Органска петрологија, Термичка зрелостPaul C.
